Everyone knows about the Seven Churches of Revelation, but few know what happened to them . Six were destroyed by varous Islamic armies, leaving only the Church of Philedelphia and which had to resist a number of attacks, but survived. Eventually in 1923, the whole church, some 25,000 people, were moved from Turkey to Greece where they were given a suburb of their own in Athens, named Nea Filadelfia. Today there are now 18 active congregations. You see He who opens and no one shuts said to the Church “Behold, I have set before you an open door” (Rev3:7-8) and true to His word it never shut. The point is His word cannot be broken (John 10:35).
